Dear Go Golf San Diego Subscriber, We wanted to let you know that gogolfsandiego.com has teamed up with oobgolf.com to provide all Go Golf San Diego members and subscribers with the most cutting edge golf stats tracking system on the web. By joining Go Golf San Diego's group on oobgolf.com you have the opportunity to win monthly golf prizes each valued at between $50 - $100 for the "Hacker Stat" monthly award. It's easy and it's simple. The First and Most Important Step:
How will the Group and Monthly Prizes Work? 1. Play at least two rounds of golf in any one month (don't forget to book your tee times at www.gogolfsandiego.com, not mandatory, but highly recommended) 2. After each round, enter your stats in oobgolf.com account 3. If a certain stat of yours is the winner for any month, you'll win a golf prize valued between $50-$100 Here's the catch (yep, there's always a catch) Lower stats don't always make you the monthly winner in this group. The group commissioner may decide to declare the highest round score the winner for any month. Or, the worst fairway percentage as the winner for any month. However, we may also announce the winner of the month for anyone with two eagles or exactly 7 birdies in two rounds. You get the idea! Remember, play honest, post your scores honestly and you may be a big winner! Let us know if you have any questions. Happy golfing, The Go Golf San Diego Team www.gogolfsandiego.com |

Temecula Creek Inn Golf Course Review Temecula Creek Inn offers a stunning 27-hole championship layout set within Southern California's Temecula Valley’s picturesque wine country that recently received the coveted Four Star rating from Golf Digest Places to Play. Temecula Creek’s 27 holes offer guests three distinct course options, perfect for a day of golf or an extended stay. From the traditional adjoining fairways of the Creek course, to the scenic beauty of the Oaks, to the dramatic elevation changes of the precision-demanding Stonehouse, this is golf at its purest, surrounded by nature at its finest. Members of Go Golf San Diego were in Temecula last weekend to play and review the Stonehouse and Creek nines. We teed up the front nine on the Stonehouse side. This side requires precision off-the-tee shots and iron shots into the green. If a player is capable of a high green in regulation percentage then they will shoot very low on this side. The greens are super pure and roll very nice as of May 2008. The fairways were in very nice condition and the views were spectacular. Golfers will enjoy the change in elevation shots and the valley views. After a successful first nine holes on the Stonehouse side, we carried on to the Creek course where we found a much flatter side and the fairways pretty straight in front of you off-the-tee. The greens were very pure and manicured. Besides the freeway running right on top of you on this side it’s very enjoyable and playable for golfers of all skill levels. If you can keep it in play, you will score very well on the Creek Course at Temecula Creek. Go Golf San Diego has all the information and discount tee times for Temecula Creek Inn! Make a tee time today. |

LEARN HOW TO AIM FROM NICKLAUS
It's on of the most common questions students ask. Where am I aimed, how do I aim? If you are aimed incorrectly you will have to make some sort of manipulation to get back to square. Jack Nicklaus had a sound method of how to aim that many tour players today still use. Jack would start off behind the ball. Then when he walked up to the ball he aimed the club at the intended target line, then moved his body into the ball based upon his club face alignment. Most golfers do the opposite. They get up to the ball and then after they (think) they are aimed point the club face and go...usually off line! Try this simple aiming drill and you should see a more consistent shot pattern. |

SIMPLE WAYS TO CURE YOUR SLICE The most common ball flight for amateur golfers is the dreaded slice shot. The main problem is that most golfers don't realize that their slice is a direct result of their poor set-up. First, they set-up to "open" to the target line because they are afraid of losing it to the right. The problem is this set-up flaw actually increases the chance of hitting the slice. Second, they grip the club with a "weak" grip which also hinders them from releasing the club down the target line. Lastly, they grip the club to tight which also makes it very difficult to release the club, which will lead to an "over the top swing plane." So square up your aim, strengthen your grip, and lighten up the grip pressure and you should see a more consistent ball flight. |
